Tom Schwendler is a technically minded Product Owner who loves Scrum. Tom holds an Engineering degree from the University of Vermont and has extensive experience writing code. He has managed software development projects for nearly 30 years using a variety of management processes. In his five years with Ascendle, Tom has mastered the roles of ScrumMaster, Quality Assurance Engineer, Product Owner, and Trainer/Coach. His experience in these roles gives him a perspective of the Scrum process from several points of view. Tom’s clients have seen the product quality and on-time delivery benefits of his well-managed agile Scrum teams. Tom has fully adopted the Scrum principles and uses them daily to successfully drive results for his Ascendle clients.
Susannah Parnin Mitchell has worked in a variety of roles across the arts and technology sectors, accumulating over 15 years of experience in start-up and non-profit management as well as agency and creative consulting. While living in Houston, TX, she managed programming for Sawyer Yards Creative Campus, a start-up arts and entertainment destination that’s home to a major events center, several galleries, and over 400 artists’ studios. She also served as the founding Director of Arts District Houston (formerly the Washington Avenue Arts District) a cultural organization supporting the creative community. Through this work, she conceptualized and co-managed the establishment of SITE Gallery Houston, a unique re-use property development project converting abandoned grain silos into an internationally recognized exhibition space.
More recently, Susannah has returned to New England and to the fast-paced world of software development, bringing her creative approach to the roles of ScrumMaster, Business Analyst, and Project Lead, working with cross-functional teams to drive software, web app, and data initiatives for a variety of large and small clients. An adept practitioner of agile who is truly energized by problem-solving, Susannah brings a unique dynamic and know-how to projects of all types.
